Mesopotamia, Islamic Period, circa 12th century AD. Lovely pottery vessel in the form of a seated bird with a bulbous body, tapered tail and extended neck. Abstract and floral motifs throughout in fine line black on cream decoration. The handle is forked or split joining at the spout and body. Size 6" H x 6" L

Condition: Impressively preserved with exception to small repairs to the rim, and expected chips and loss to slip throughout.
