Ecuador, circa 500 AD, Jamacoaque polychrome figure in a relaxed, reclining position. Arms propped up behind him, the figure appears to be gazing upwards possibly at the night sky, or to the trees above. He wears terracotta red shirt and orange pants. Green necklace and a lovely headdress with green lappets. Incised facial features with a contemplative expression, almond slit eyes and full lips. Size 5 3/4" L

Condition: Restoration to both remaining lappets, possible restoration to left arm. Otherwise impressively preserved with remaining pigments.
