Rare style polychrome decorated pottery female, depicting a seated woman in mourning. Long bone extending down each side of her face piercing the sides of her mouth. She wears earspools, holding a bowl in her left hand and an implement in her right, resting on her raised knee. Incised straited torso throughout. Size 10" H x 6" W
ex-Dr. James Tait Goodrich, Grandview-on-Hudson, NY, USA, by decent to family.
Condition: head repaired from several pieces and crack lines painted, one leg reattached and repainted, left arm reattached, loss to right hand implement, other possible damage and restoration.
