Finely detailed Basikasingo male ancestor carved from a single piece of wood. The warrior stands holding a spear in his right hand, and a dagger in his left. He is nude with exposed genitals, knees lightly belt and standing on a wood pedestal, much is since lost. He wears a helmet with a cross to the top, and banded chin strap. Almond slit eyes, narrow nose with flared nostrils, and thin lips. Size 23" H on included custom base.

Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.

Condition: Loss to lower sections including loss to spear, patina throughout.
