North America, Spanish Colonial Borderlands, gridiron & implements from the 18th/19th century period. Used gridiron with raised hooks in wrought iron, large deep copper bowl with loop handles, fire poker and large iron spoon. Spanish Colonial borderlands refers to the geographical and cultural areas of North America that were under Spanish colonial rule during the colonial period and expansion, which lasted from the late 15th century to the 19th century. These regions extended from present-day Mexico into what is now the southwestern United States and parts of the Southeast. The Spanish colonial borderlands included areas such as present-day California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Florida, and portions of Colorado, Nevada, and Utah.
