Africa, Cote d’Ivoire and Liberia passport mask or small wood mask carved in an elongated shape. Often referred to the miniatures masks bear the names ‘Ma go’ or small head and are associated in a variety of different styles and carving. The purpose of the masks was related to who commissioned them and would often be associated with protective spirits or in special circumstances as a conduit to keep ties with the family of married women. Size 3 3/4" H x 1-7/8" W
Condition: As-is condition with minor soiling.
