African power figures, also known as nkisi or nkishi (plural), are sculptures or figures created by various African cultures, particularly those in Central and West Africa. These power figures are believed to possess spiritual and supernatural powers and are used for a range of purposes, including healing, protection, divination, and addressing community issues. Size 13 1/2" H, custom base included.
Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
Condition: Arms and legs have old losses, loss to ear, losses to hide covering throughout.
