African wood carved headdress crest of a anthropomorphic head. Missing the top and bottom sections, this head features human like facial features, with black and white kaolin pigments. Raised eyebrows and mouth agate as though expressing a song, the face also has traditional scarifications on either side of the eyes and on the forehead. Size on included custom stand 17" H, head 10" H
Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
Condition: As-is condition with losses and missing sections as shown, losses to left side of head.
