Antique Thai bronze Nuddha head, his face with serene expression, arched eyebrows above incised eyes and lips, aquiline nose, elongated earlobes and flame issuing from ushnisha. Size of head 16 1/4" H, mounted on custom stand.
The ushnisha is a three-dimensional oval at the top of the head of the Buddha. In Pali scriptures, it is the crown of Lord Buddha, the symbol of his Enlightenment and Enthronement.
Condition: As-is condition with loss to neck as shown, likely from a larger statue. Fine patina throughout.
