Impressively detailed Japanese samurai on horseback. This statue depicts the famous samurai Kusunoki Masashige, a Japanese samurai of the Kamakura period remembered as the ideal of samurai loyalty. Kusunoki fought for Emperor Go-Daigo in the Genko War to overthrow the Kamakura shogunate and restore power in Japan to the Imperial Court. Size 15 1/2" L x 13 1/2" H
Condition: As-is condition with missing samurai sword, missing face guard on helmet, and reigns on one side of the horse is handing loose. Rider is removable and the horse acts as a censer.
