Neolithic period, circa 2000 BC. Green stone polished and drilled with a central hole. Some areas of loss around the edges. Age patination throughout. Size 3 1/4" H, 5 1/4" H on included custom stand
ex-New York, New York collection, ex-Howard T. Knapp collection, a former physicist for the Space Program at NASA, who had a deep passion for antiquities, armour and weaponry. He acquired many fascinating objects from the 1960’s to the 1980’s during his extensive word traveling. With an impressive collection that included a three thousand-year-old ancient Greek sword and over five thousand pieces of pottery, later in life Knapp was an antique dealer and director of Castle Armory Antique Arms Museum.
Condition: Overall well preserved condition.
