East Asia, China, Sung Dynasty, ca. mid-10th to 12th century CE. Chalk white Sung dynasty stoneware pottery jar with applied cravats to the shoulder. Bulbous shaped body with two incised bands at the neck, wear to the rim boasts daily use and represents the lack of lid today. Jars like this were commonly used to store spices and ingredients for every day use. Size 6" W x 3 3/4" H
Condition: As-is condition with patina, wear commensurate with age throughout.
