Boccio Voodoo Head Fragment, Fon Peoples 20th c.

Puppet head or fragment from a ceremonial figure with round circular skull agape mouth and tight facial features. The Bochio also spelled Boccio are well known type of carved objects from the Fon peoples and many offer vague details in the face as this example does. In additional some artefacts of this nature from the Fon peoples are attributed to voodoo ritual use. Size of piece 17 1/2" H, custom stand included.
