Middle East, Iran so called Ancient Persia, Kashan, Seljuq Dynasty 10th-13th. Raised octagonal fritware or stonepaste bowl in turquoise glaze with decorated panels of floral motifs separated by column like boarders. Size 6 3/8" W x 4 1/8" H
The Seljuqs or Seljuks had originally moved from the Caspian and Aral seas. Towards the end of the 10th century converted to Islam. During the 11th century they seized Nishapur the capital of the Ghaznavids and solidified control as the sultanate of the Great Seljuqs.
