Islamic Kashan Sweetmeat Dish, 12th - 13th C.

Islamic Ancient Persia, Abbasid Caliphate, Capital City of Kashan. Iridescent turquoise tall footed sweetmeat dish with seven miniaturized bowls to the top resembling a seed pod and a widening circular footed base. The underside of the dish reveals a hollow foot. The turquoise color has faded with time but still displays light iridescence. Intact miniature handle decoration to each pot similar to the vines of a flower or fruit with a glaze slip over portions of the outside edges. Size 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" H
