Indonesia Circa 1900’s or earlier. A carved and painted wood figural Kris holder, probably ‘Lord Hanuman’ the monkey commander of the monkey army and deity of wisdom, strength, courage, devotion, and self-discipline. Keris smooth wood grip in dark brown with carved decorations, gold metal base, pierced and carved blade with short double fuller, sheath in exotic wood and overlayed with a sheet of stippled and pressed silver steel. Size of keris holder 19 1/2"H, blade 13 1/2" L, 19" L in sheath
Condition: Soiling and surface wear throughout commensurate with age.
