19th century Chinese wood carved gilt deity. Hand carved wooden Daoist figure likely one of the eight immortals. Depicted here seated and enveloped in encapsulating gilt throughout. Arms and hands together similar in style to being in a moment of prayer. Light remnants of the floral and scrolling details can be seen on the robe in some areas. Quite a lovely example throughout.
