Asian silk embroidered vest, probably Mongolia under Chinese reign during the Qing Dynasty in 19th century prior to separation. Thick padded linen and silk embroidered vest varying ground black, red, blue, and gold colors. The central mandarin square with mythical creature surrounded by birds and other animalistic symbols in geometric designs of varying color backgrounds. The lower haft with a linen band of gold embroidery with dragons and flaming pearl, band of red silk with phoenix and floral motifs, and a final black band with floral depictions. Size of piece 18 1/2" H x 17" W, 25" H x 23" W in frame
Condition: Pilling to threads and minor losses throughout commensurate with age, not examined outside of frame.
