Old well aged and worn carved wood ritual statue probably Dogon representing an ancestor in the nude seated position with their arms at the side clasping their legs. The head carved thin and tall with elongated nose, slanted eyes, and pursed lips. 15" H
Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
Condition: loss to one arm and significant wear overall
