Finely carved early chief figure in wood known as Mwananhana meaning ‘Lord of the Land’ and representative of the local village chieftain. The crown typical of the nude chief figures this carving also depicts a gun in one hand and walking stick in the other indicative of respecting elders and revered as holy mediators between earth, spirits, and ancestors. Size 7 3/8" H
Condition: As-is with minor surface scratches.
