Lot 290:
Early 20th century exquisite step ladder with affixed copper ball shaped sun and incised designs above, similar to branches with leaves. The ladder has three cylindrical steps, and a face shaped ‘shelf’ step at the top. Arched above the face the ladder continues with a metal sun-like applied metal ball, and branch or leaf designs carved in high relief. As one climbs the ladder the face is looking down at you giving a comforting and secure feeling. The ladder was cut in modern time with a power saw, typically it would measure well over 8 feet and higher. Size 66 1/2" H x 14" W x 5 1/4" L For a nearly identical example, please visit the Yale Art Gallery here: https://artgallery.yale.edu/collections/objects/159853#technical-metadata
