Fine great Nicoya, Galo style period circa 500-800 AD, terracotta standing female figure. With geometric and avian designs throughout in traditional polychrome (literally meaning three colors) style, with dark brown, red and orange pigment. She stands with her hands at her hips, wearing red earspools and pursed lips, with determination in her eyes. Size 10" H x 5 3/4" W, custom stand included
Ex – New York, New York, USA Collection, ex – Stanley L. Kaufman a Harvard educated lawyer who passed away in 1993 at the age of 81. In 1946 he became a founding partner in his law firm, Kaufman Malchman, Kaufman & Kirby, which has branches in NYC and LA
Condition: Left foot repaired from multiple pieces, hole to inside of right leg, neck is drilled to both sides.
