Classic period, circa 300 – 400 AD. Lovely dancing fish god plate, with rattle feet (one rattle still functional). Polychrome painted bands to the outer edge, with a gripping fish figure to center. Applied feet opened to allow a pottery ball inside to rattle. Size 10 1/4" W x 2 1/4" H
ex-Romy Rey collection, London acquired in the 1970s from Chiswick Auctions, London.
Condition: Multiple areas of loss to rim as shown, one foot restored, two out of three rattles do not function.
