Forest green US army hat made by Luxenberg Military & Civilian Tailors in New York. Bright gilt brass American Eagle pendant to center of hat. George Pappas was a full bird colonel who collected arms and Armour among other antiques. His reputation for acquisitions was well known and accumulated a fine collection of art. He served in WW2 and stayed in the reserves until he died at about age 87. He was one of the first neurosurgeons in the medical field. There is a surgical wing named in his honor at Northwell Hospital in Sleepy Hollow NY. Size 11" L
Condition: Over-all good condition with minor wear.
