West Africa, Nigeria, Hausa people 19th c. Hausa people dagger from the regions of southern Niger with original dyed leather sheet featuring greens and black similar to the symbol of the Hausa people. The blade is a slender wide shape with a brass covered and cross hatched section, handle is an ebonized leather with a triangular shaped pommel. The sheath is vibrantly colored and a worn leather with dyed ebony and bright greens. Size overall 13 1/2" L, blade 8 1/2" L
