East Asia, China, Sung Dynasty, mid-10th to 12th century CE. Lenticular formed jarlet from the Song dynasty, with black-brown Jian style glaze to upper half. The bands of color seen on the outer rim express the number of times it was dipped into the glaze. Size 4" H x 5" W
Condition: Pitting and craquelure throughout, signs of wear commensurate with age.
