Large early polychrome cup with fire-clouds, protruding lip and rounded but stable base. Varying color of pottery comes from where the bowl was placed when fired in the kiln, in this case hardly any fire touched the base leaving it a natural clay color, while the rest of the bowl is of varying shades. Black areas are where flames were closest and hotest. Size 7 1/4" H x 10 1/2" W
Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
Condition: As-is condition with minor losses to rim, wear commensurate with age and use, manganese has tested for authenticity. Small stable fissure to base.
