Pre-Columbian, probably Guerrero region, Mezcala culture (500 BCE – 650 CE). The necklace is held together with clasp at the rear and to main stone which has worn carving and old pigment. Consists of 8 large heavy jadeite, serpentine, and hardstone beads all carved in cylindric or natural forms and drilled to each for suspension, the spaces between each bead consist of shell and colored beads in orange and black. 10", neck 16 1/2"
